where I wait for my love
at the halfway point
don’t ask about the weather,
the only time I knew of it
was the drive from the airport
don’t ask about the sights
I know nothing of
any sort
I can tell you the carpet is
maroon
the walls a warm cream
and the couch has
changed it’s form to a bed
it smells of cinnamon
my hands are clammy
heart racing
as I wait for my love
in the center of our world
of Maywood,
