That Day (A haiku tribute to 9/11)

I remember well
That deplorable morning
As many still do

The terror and pain
Emotional shock and fear
Chaos was legion

I also recall
Of heroes and of saviors
Impervious hearts

Tales of survival
People uniting as one
We shall not forget
