Betrayed

Wild...
Wandering...
foam upon the waves
waves rise in the wind
Betrayed.

Darkness lay in hunger
hunger had a name---
minotaur
man-eater
king of the depraved.
Bones lie white
the bones of men
men thrown in
in
with the minotaur.

Alone...
Abandoned...
tossed in the stormy sea
water, slapping
Betrayed.

Silence died amidst the bones
hunger fled the maze
minotaur...
he came with a ball
a ball of twine
came to kill...
came and lived...
lived to see the day.

Shivering...
Shaking...
rocks rise from the bay
wailing wind capsizes
Betrayed.

Absolutely breathtaking. Just a piece of work with A-plus heart, A-plus effort and an even better choice of words. I commend you and urge you to keep this up at your age. Good luck at Shepherd from a fellow Mountaineer.

Excellent, I really liked it. Good powerfull writing. Strong and forceful imagery. I've forgotten the name of the princess abandoned by Theseus was it Ariadne? Good poem.
