I once had a dream, it was so clear,
You by my side, I had nothing to fear.
Me and you, we'd have it all,
I never thought, I'd be watching it fall.

Surrounded by darkness, but then you came,
Into my life, nothing was the same.
All the depression, you made it go away,
You were my sunshine, on a rainy day.

You were the one who made me see,
That no matter what it was okay to be me.
Through the bad times you stayed by my side,
In for the long haul, however bumpy the ride.

When events happened that I thought were bad,
You were there to hold me when I felt sad.
When I felt my world was coming to an end,
There you were helping my broken heart mend.

And when it felt things were going my way,
You made it feel like the perfect day.
When I was happy, and felt I could feel no more,
You picked me up, and made my heart soar.

The dream we wanted finally came true,
But now you seek something new.
All the plans we had - it's likle they were never there,
Tell me, do you still care?

The love we had - it was so pure,
What have we got to do to find the cure?
I still feel the same, look into my heart,
Do you want me to let us fall apart?

You came into my life and made everything right,
Broke down my walls without a fight.
Showed me what is was like to trust,
Love and care about someone, and to lust.

I never, ever, wanted us to end,
You're not just my lover, you're my best friend.
Darling, no matter how far we are apart,
You'll forever be in my heart.
The dream we had, I'll hold onto forever,
No matter what, we belong together.
