Set your laser to stun

I once resided on a planet far far away.
Dantooine was it's name.
A vast expanse of rolling prairie and deep ravines
Flora the shade of pea-green.
But not many trees.

The native tribes were peace-loving souls,
They nodded, spoke strangely then proceeded to
Rip the head off a Voritor lizard.
Although Kangarian as a language can be harder
Than Japanese. I tried and learned to say:
Would you like fries with that?

The wild beasts who roamed are deadly
And peckish any hour of the day.
Huurtons look cute like a dalmation dog but
Stroke one and you'll get your arm bitten off.
I blast 'em all with my E11 rifle.

My swoop bike was my life and so I
Customised it with colours of the Swedish flag.
Cruising the planet, seeing all kind of sights.
The three-headed totum pole and the enchanted lake.
A more beautiful place is yet to be made.

No out-of-town shops eating up profits.
Inhabitants do tend to be self-sufficient.
Go to Corellia if you need entertainment.
Bantha beer flows freely and the Twi'leks dance pretty.
One word of advice if you enter this den:
Watch out! Imperial recruiter, he works 4 'till 10.

Yes, all in all, Dantooine's perfect
And I long to return.
I promised myself in my reincarnation
To pay the rent regular and get some kind of job
Instead of staring blankly into the swirling fog
Trying to write poetry.

Really enjoyed the descriptions of a far away land. Really different unique poem.

Different sort of poem, a lot of dialogue. It feels more like what someone would read out rather than the normal abstract nature of a poem. But it still has the feeling of a poem. So, points to you for approaching the poem from an alternate angle

Beautifully tongue in cheek, and refreshing for being so.

yep, the SW images were great. i liked it because it was different, too. [Although Kangarian as a language can be harder
Than Japanese. I tried and learned to say:
Would you like fries with that?] --cracked me up! i think that was what Luke feared most!

This piece reads more like a story than a poem. Clever though.
