The Window
I stare out my window and watch the world go by
My own mood reflected by the clouds in the sky.
People walk past with there own purpose for that day
I imagine what they do, but for sure? I couldn’t say.
As I stare out I wish I was elsewhere
But this is my window, and for now, it’s all I can bare.
Yesterday the blinds were closed; they shut me off from the world
I panicked as my thoughts of life and dreams unfurled.
You may think I’m crazy, to depend on the light
But it’s all I got in here to keep me losing sight.
It reminds me there’s life outside this place.
That there’s still more of this earth to taste.
To be honest the window makes things worse
I never thought my escape would be my curse
Some days I dream that I will break free
Others I’m glad to be here, to a tolerable degree.
Well I have nothing more to say so this is the end
Back to the window on which I depend.

| Nice poem I must say. I see the rhyme and smooth flow. But I also saw a few errors. Typographic, maybe. Line 3 "there" should be "their". I advice, or rather, suggest that u do away with punctuations entirely. It will give it an easier flow. and then...eventhough it's nice, I still see a forced rhyme. Keep it up. |
