Bonds of the Heart

Can mere words break the bonds of the heart?
Tongue is the mother of words
And heart houses love
Is there a road from the throat to the heart?
Whatever you say, whatever you do
May pierce me like an icicle
But not enough to wash away my love
Love is al “you”, “lesser “we” and no “I”
Because sacrifice is the name of love
Your words are hollow and weak
They may at the most hurt me
But are not strong enough to budge my feelings
Moreover, did I ever ask for your love if you give it to me, it will give me the fillip
If you don’t, I’ll be just as happy
Because to give you love is all I want
To be by your side when you need me
To see a smile on your face
Transfers me to a state of euphoria
Leave me alone if you must,
But don’t insult my love
Don’t smother it with any dirt
Don’t question its existence
Don’t raise on it any finger of suspicion
And don’t blame me if it falls short
Because this is all I have
Whatever you may be for yourself and the world
For me you’ll remain as pure, innocent and sacred as love itself
Because mere words cannot break the bonds of the heart.
