THE DREAMER

I sat by the riverbank
My pen in my hand
Busily scribbling,
My words a blur line.
With my thoughts in my head
And my dreams in my heart,
I go far beyond the present
Into the bright future i know awaits me.
Not minding the world around me,
I set my heart free to dream.
Stubbornly, i refuse to listen to the voices in my head,
The voices telling me that i can't be who i want to be.
Doggedly, i press towards my mark;
Towards the finishing line.
I'm the dreamer,
And no one can take away my dreams.

I liked the determination in this write. We all often fight with the voices in our head that try to keep us from being who we are or what we can be.
