The Rhetoric of Language
The Rhetoric of Language
They were words written before the
evening came to an end; the light flickered
in the moonlit night as the age of living
rested on its tiredness, its contemplation,
its laurels that these words repeat.
These were thoughts communed in the imitation
of yesterday. In the morning I saw the same view,
the window with a glare of visions, mirrors
with the same clone, the routine of thoughts
consumed for the grasp of living ' an existence.
They were once new in human eyes, new to
human thoughts and its history ' new to the age
before poesy died and had to be reborn again
to the touch of flesh and the rhetoric of language.

| Very dramatic, moving rhetoric. I enjoy the way you use language to your advantage. Your words touch the flesh. Very romantic without seeming to try. |

| Curious poem. The second verse is particuly good. Does the last verse need an extra line? Good stuff, the words give a dream effect which is nice. |
