The tubes coil and twist
Like worms and snakes
Sustaining life
Or stalling death?

The wind from your lungs
Grows weaker still
Essence of being
Enters the doldrums

If you took all the emotion
I’ve expressed
It’d flood the room
Where’s your ark?

A good time to deny God
When things are hard
He’s not there
Out to lunch

Be back later
Don’t speak of faith
Now’s not the time
Will you take me too?

I only see one set of footprints
But dammit I’m still walking
If anything I’m carrying you
I know who’s falling down on the job

Just let me cope
Without your false optimism
Things will NOT be okay
But I know that

Why should I exist if you do not?
You showed me meaning
You gave me hope
You offered me beauty

But someone else has taken it away
You were given no options
No voice in the matter
No choice

Fuck structure and fuck form and fuck reason and fuck logic
I don’t care if this happens all the time
It should not and I will not let it
I will not let it will not let it will not let it will

But I have to because I am powerless and they say that the sooner you accept it the better you’ll be but I do not believe it because it is not true because if I have no power why I am here?

I will not be an experiment
Will not be a pawn
Will not be a guinea pig
For something outside of myself

And there it is
I have fallen into the trap
Made it about me
You warned me of this

And now as you die
I have strayed again
All I ask is you forgive me
One last time

You always did
You always will

Please friend
Do not forget me
As I will not you
There is new light in the sky tonight
