Summer of '18

The little girl with a gingham dress,

primarily pink,

with blushed, white cheeks,

green doe eyes, small coils

of silver gold hair

and a slightly open

red mouth

tries to clean the dust off

her bleached socks and black suede shoes.

The 3 o'clock train roars

ahead and

puffs out smoke

like a winter chimney.

Near the little girl's feet lies

her brother – same

green eyes, yellow

eyebrows, small coils

of silver gold hair and

a slightly open red mouth,

same dusty bleached socks –

tangled in the tracks

like an unsolved

jigsaw puzzle.

Very nice. What a morbid ending! I really enjoyed this, I read it over a couple of times I enjoyed it so much. I'll definitely be reading your other work.
