Lines three through five made me smile. Goddamn, isn't that the story of my life and seven generations before me and around me. You're right about Portland breeding brilliance, I think a different word would fit better though, how about depraved? It seems that that's what brilliance boils down to. You don't see some fucking PSU student wearing Abercrombie and writing this well. What a wonderful world...A better poem though, or song anyway.
