you've got this hold over me and i don't know what it is
but every time you screw up I can't help but forgive
maybe its because you've got the heart of a child
but then there are your eyes of a solider gone wild
You've got more sides to you than the most complex cube
each timed to exploration, you don't miss a cue

but what does that mean but more shoes to keep clean
more mouths and souls to feed, how could you possibly be?
you brush your teeth at night until it feels just right
can't close one eye unless everything is set in sight
If only you knew what life is like with the lights on
you might just realize that you could belong

what do you say to taking chances? taking a risk?
I say let's live it up now - let's dive on in - make a wish
so get out of bed and let the sun shine in - yeah let the the sun shine in
just breathe, breathe, a deep breath can cure a lot
we don't have all day kid - make this your one shot

always convinced the world is against you
you leave no time to appreciate what is true
and maybe it is because I give in to all of your actions
all of your violence, anger, and aggressions
it's time to grow up and forgive whatever hurt your past
there is no way to change what happened, time won't last

I can't say i've walked in your shoes because I haven't
but everyone makes mistakes - who hasn't?
no need to shut out everything you once lived for
don't blame everyone else for how miserable you are
many have had it worse and have made it far
farther then you seem to be, time to raise the bar
