In Pain

It hurts. Not your body, just your heart and mind. You’re tired, and you want it to end. Not life or some emo bullshit like that, but this feeling. The girl of your dreams, albeit 4 years older than you, is slipping away. You didn’t talk to her about your feelings, how much passion you have for her. And as the car pulled you away from her, it killed you not to look back. She’s the best company you can think of. When you are around her, it feels right. You could spend the rest of your life with her and love every second. Who cares if she loves anime? You could learn to accept it, to deal with it. And at the party, you resolved to talk to her, maybe ask her out. But you couldn’t. You’re stuck in a loveless relationship, and you can’t get out. That’s what’s killing you. The girl you are with has lost all the luster she once had, and you can’t feel an attraction. She’s mad about you, and is going to prom with you. The relationship is too far advanced: she’s got the dress, you’ve met the parents. You can’t quit now. It’d kill her. So what do you do? You try to get her to quit. You think of all the ways to cheat on her, to be an ass, to not take her calls, to be as non-charming as possible. She’s put you on a pedestal. You have to find the way down.

But can you? That little freaking voice banging away in your head keeps saying things about morality and being a decent human being. It isn’t fair to either of you to go on this way. But you can’t talk to her about it, because of what will happen. She’s not the most thick-skinned of girls. She’s sensitive, and you can feel the cracks. It’s like you’re walking on a single glass-sharded kite string, and each step you slide cuts deeper into your feet, into your legs. If you fall either way, calamity ensues on all sides. The shining goal ahead of you seems too good to be true, and what’s behind is unsavory and lacking.

But in the end, something will happen. You just have to be ready.

Wow, very beautiful, especially the last lines. And i like the way in the second paragraph it starts with a direct question, 'but can you?' So really, well done, i enjoyed reading something so passionate.

First paragraph, take out the could and couldn't-
I'd start a new paragraph when you speak of the loveless relationship. For a moment, I thought you were speaking about the same girl. Separating it would make it more clear.

For the most part, this story is quite emotional regardless of your "emo bullshit" statement.

Many of us are in that situation and can relate. Pretty sad plight to be in. I've been there.
