A Piece of Advice (Karjon 30/The Wrong Way)

I've never been able to follow a conventional path for any appreciable distance. Some people are born to lead, others to follow. Me, I departed the womb obstinate and rebellious, but do have some advice:

Forging one's own way through life, though extremely arduous, leads to a mine containing purest gold. If it's easy — back off — you're wasting your time. The only things really worth having are those requiring blood, sweat, tears, and many heartaches to attain. Cultivate your talent and protect its fruit at all cost. Oh, and whatever you do; never fall in love. It hurts like hell.

>>never fall in love. It hurts like hell.

It does, sometimes.

Another great piece, Arley. Certainly one that got me thinking. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Karen!

Damn right I'll be here when I can, because that's the only chance I ever get to talk to you, heh heh. Since you're standing in agreement with Karl on PARTED vs DEPARTED, reckon the ol' Texan must make amends.

Hit my funny bone with *Yeah, I'd prefer you 'departed' - we like our wombs all in one piece - we're funny like that.* Gal, you're too damn witty!
