13th Chair - From Band Nerds: Poetry From The 13th Chair Trombone Player
I was 13th chair in my elementary band.
I was as discouraged as I could be.
The teacher told me it was alphabetized,
But my name starts with C.
And as time went on, I never moved.
Last chair is where I’d sit.
But 7 years later I’m finally first
‘Cause everyone else has quit.
