Rootless
I desert my abode
to become
Rootless, homeless.
I set out on a road
For being
Identity less, individuality less
Yet, I am aware
Of the dimensions of
Time and space.
There’s mobility
And progress
And future
In the road
There’s locality
And chances
Howsoever obscure
In this mode
Glad that, I am no more aware
Of the tensions of
Human rat race.

Last night i was reading Max Weber's SOCIAL ACTIONS. And tonight i stumbled with 'ROOTLESS".
I strongly relate with alienation in this poem and ghasty pressur "the actor" might be facing.
Watch yourself plz.."the actor'!thas wht comes out spontaneously! |

I really liked this poem. It has a depth to it that can be looked at in two ways... as that period in life when you finally break away from who you've been. Letting go of societal, family, past(ego) identity traits and beliefs to find who you really are...
The other way I looked at it was that it reminded me of that moment, after 20 or so minutes of meditating where I hit that point where the world, problems, stress, and even my individuality seems to disappear... only awareness of being. Remembering that the world is still out there.. but seeming so far away. |

Chris,
Yes, the abode here is my Comfort Zone and the road is my search for new identity.
Thanks for appreciating.
