Grand Lies
We always sing sad songs,
can't ever get along
in the end will we have friends?
in the end it never ends
you just keep turning back around,
listen up to hear the sound
of the whispers through the doors-
locked and shut
you’re all alone
while you wander through the crowd,
busy people run around,
not a second can they spare
to hear of you and your despairs
but you walk on anyway,
hoping someday things will change
maybe then they’ll hear your cries,
maybe then they’ll recognize
they passed on by and didn’t care,
never there through your despair
and now you’re in your grave
so we cry our tears of shame
because we passed on by
while time told its grand lies.
