These days the sun steadily proves the sky
which now conscripts war-like clouds
soon a fierce war will break out
with roars and clanks of weapons above
and drops of glassy blood below
heaven will blaze and blare
roofs and trees will rage in protest
while we
too human to observe
will hibernate into roomlets
to pray that a divine hand intervenes

but the earth will smile again
when the rains pump it with health
lawns will yield flowers
and our lungs happy sighs
