Trying to rid myself of you

Black score out
Not bright white correction fluid

That's what I see
Trying rid myself of you

No matter how hard I try
The marks, they just don't fade

I gloss them over
But you just shine on through

I drag my nails over the cracks
Scarlet nails, blood red marks

That's what I see
Trying to rid myself of you

ouch! short but encapsulating a lot of visual images, and its interesting how individuals select them, oppositional as they may be. "Paint it Black" was a Rolling Stones version. "White it out man, white it out. think snowfield" Dr Richard Bandler, is another. Shades of Hilaire Belloc too. Would love to see this explored further, but this piece stands out on its own.
