Manchester; My Town

The youths they swagger with some copied frown
Hoods up
Heads down
As the rain it bounces in the middle of this town
My town

A blue flash in window glass
Turn and watch police cars pass
Weaving through this town
My Town

The sunsets on this northern mire
Setting tower blocks on fire
A palace for a hundred kings which looks across this town
My Town

I really see the images you produce. Just the use of the word 'copied' is a perfect set up for the 'hoods up heads down' bit. Loved it.

I definitely get the flair of youth rebellion but also a sense of history and tradition in this piece. Wonderful writing.
