A Little Corner of my Brain

There’s a little corner of my brain
that knows everything that I know and more.
The place my thoughts go to when they dream.
Sometimes they never wake up,
and are lost to me forever.

My thoughts take naps at the most
inopportune times, robbing me
of important one-liners, tidbits and facts.
If only I knew how to break into that corner,
revive all those thoughts, wisdoms,
pictures and dreams.

This place clothed in shadows,
illusions, forgetfulness,
holds for me a prize beyond all
but heart’s love true.
I wish that I knew what pieces and parts,
took their lodging there, at the corner
of emotion and reason.

You have tapped into a subject that we all wish we could find! Very interesting indeed and most of all very true. I am not a good critique person but I love this poem.
