Everything is fine. pt 2

Blinking and flashing, screaming and blaring, his senses pick up these sensations, dull at first, but they start to explode into his mind.

He opens his eyes.

A man wraps a bandage on his wrist while a woman presses on his chest. They talk to each other calmly but are anything but calm. He sees it in their eyes.

He feels lighter. The pain in his arms begins to fade. His eyes grow heavy. The female looks at him and then at the male, she starts yelling at him, but he can’t hear her.

The void waits patiently for him, for it has nothing else to do but wait. It always has and always will be. It is different now, however. She waits for him on the verge of eternity and damnation. Her eyes are as bright as supernovas. She grabs onto him. He closes his eyes.

He can’t move. He has never felt more sorrow in his entire life.

“Why am I here?” He asks her, but does not look at her.

“You aren’t ready to go.” Her voice is the ocean. It is every beautiful sound he has ever heard. “There is still so much more for you to do. You cannot give up yet.”

“Please,” his voice is barely audible, “just let me go. I don’t want to feel this anymore… never again.” He feels tears roll off his cheeks.

She holds him tighter. It is the sweetest thing he has ever experienced. For this instant he never wants to let go of her but he can’t bring himself to look at her.

“Open your eyes… please.” He knows she is staring straight at him, straight into his heart.

His breathing is erratic and his heart hammers his chest. He is ashamed. With tremendous effort he opens his wet, red eyes. He finds the courage to speak while looking at her incredible beauty. “Who are you?”

She smiles. He feels his heart skip a beat and the death inside him rumbles. The pain fades, if only for a brief second. She speaks, “I am your angel and I will never leave you.”

His heart breaks. His shame is almost overwhelming. Every inch of his being wants to punish itself for almost giving up. “Thank you for saving me.”

She looks up, “He saved you. I merely loved you.” He closes his eyes again and lets everything fade into her embrace.

***

He wakes up in a hospital bed. The bandages on his arms are gone, the wounds nearly healed. He cries until he can’t anymore. He thanks her with everything that he is and ever will be. “I love you.”

That made me cry. Happy tears. Smiling as well.

I could feel every bit of the piece. My heart was racing and can feel the warmth of the touch on my skin. The sensory elements are fascinating.
