in the band of his trilby
the pin feather
of a snipe

always

the hat within reach
the feather varnished
by smoke of many bars
even though
infrequently
washed in rain dried
in the airs of alley-ways

then the feather
still beat at the wind
then the snipe
still flew
with zig-zagged flight
