D-I-WHY

It brings us closer together.

'No more nails' bonds
backs to backs

and interlocks fingers,
our fingers

forced in tradition
and over seductive

reds, neutral creams,
laminate puzzles,

to brace interstices.
We splint each other,

our broken spirits
slowly returning

over the adhesive
of a home glued.
