A Hymn of Differences

Another escapist fantasy from
another elder travesty
And what myth do you live
your life by?
What’s the difference between
faith and denial?

The biggest smiles come
on the best liars
The brightest rose grows
amidst a field of briars

And then there’s those
who gently attack
and reassure you
that something has your back
There’s love to be found
in the ground
in the air
but never where
you really need it

The biggest smiles come
on the best liars
The sweetest words heard
by the uninspired

Another tragic fallacy borne
of worldly malady
And what myth do you direct
strife with?
What’s the difference between
truth and fact?
