(A young woman stands alone, center stage in sats position.)
JANE
...It was only yesterday...I was another person...I was one person.
(A man comes by and dances seductively with Jane then exits.)
JANE
..And now I'm more... There's more of me...(clenches stomach) Oh! Ow! (falls down) Ow Ow! It hurts to know this! Why? Ow!
(The same man enters with a coffin. He opens it and beckons for Jane to get in.)
JANE
No...I can't... I don't want to!
(The man, staying stationary pulls her towards him.)
JANE
(struggles, but is pulled close to him) No! (stops herself) I choose not you! It's my choice!
(The man slams the coffin shut and exits.)
JANE
(worried, confused) It is my choice! Do I keep it, kill it or sell it? Well they think I should- No! Its me! My choice, all...ME. (being pushed down by something) Only my choice! (pushes it off and stands triumphantly) I know now where the flow of life starts! (smiles having finally chosen) Yes, I know now! I will-
(A rush of 10 people come running up to her and begin adjusting things on her outfit. Some people are carrying babies trying to put them in Jane's arms while others try to get rid of the babies. They're all talking and commenting on what Jane should do.)
PERSON 1
Oh, Jane you must save your child! Its part of you! You can't possibly do anything but!
PERSON 2
Why would you keep it? You can't! You have your whole life ahead of you! Oh, dear let me help you decide! You poor thing!
PERSON 3
No! No, no, no! Janey your just confused! Please for the love of Christ you can't go on with this! You'll go to hell! Please save yourself from the fiery pits!
PERSON 4
Go ahead! Do it! You know it's the right thing to do! Its not painful, I promise. Please Jane do it for yourself!
PERSON 5
Jane please! Jane! Don't! You must not go through with this!
PERSON 6
Why are you doubting yourself? Just do it Jane! Come on, you KNOW it's the right thing to do!
PERSON 7
Damn it Jane! Do it! Do it before you change your mind! Please! For yourself, your future!
PERSON 8
Oh my god, don't! Jane you can't! Listen to reason please! Jane, why would you choose something like that? Jane!
PERSON 9
Please change your mind! don't do this Jane, don't you dare! Jane! Please, I think you should really reconsider!
PERSON 10
Jane stop this nonsense, decide now! You have so many choices, why is it so complicated? Choose!
JANE
I...I DON'T KNOW...
PEOPLE (in sync)
You...WHAT?!
