Upon losing the talent show.

I was devastated.
Try not to cry,
that's all I could think.
She shoots me a dirty look,
you know I should have won.
Try not to cry.
Honorable mention?
Is that all I get?
another person is crowned winner.
But they did not deserve it.

Hold up until can get home.
People tell me I should have won.
I'm not stupid, I know that.

The winners aproach me,
they try to give me thier money.
I won't take it.
They tell me that I should have won.

I realized,
I was the winner that night.

that's not the point... I felt like I had won something because I was good enough that the winners thought I should have won. the judges were biased anyway.
