float n’ pop

Watching the bubbles float n’ pop
Float n’ pop
Watching the bubbles in my soda pop
Soda pop
Watching what I know I can’t stop
Waiting for the bubbles to pop
Bubbles to pop

Like chemical remainders of
Someone described as
Certain loss finders

As I stand with my drink
under a false sun, which
Hides the moon.

Wait for time to pop
That painted sun
Balloon

It was always nearly
Night
But: whatever.
Back to the drink.
(even if tastes to
Bitter)

I sip my soda pop
Soda pop
Watching things I just can’t stop
Just can’t stop.

I liked the way your poem shows how helpless we are under the onslaught of time. Comparing the soda pop to the reality that one day the sun that gives us life will be gone--pop, and all of us with it. Life is so short and there is so much to do. Enjoy each day because that day may be the last. Good message.
