Undoing

Sitting inside this complacency
Drowning in the dark
Feel the numbness take me over
The scars have made their mark

Eyes fill quickly with tears
As I fall helpless to my knees
Hands that tremble
Taken over by this disease

Blood running in emotion
Torn inside with what is known
I’ll never get to feel you again
I’ll never again see you home

As I hold all that is left
Your face on paper in my hand
I can’t hold on to sanity
Knowing you are below the sand

Screaming as I fall apart
Piece by piece lay on this ground
I can’t see heaven anymore
Lost here waiting to be found

I think this is a very good start. Just for an experiment, write the same thing but use completely different words. I think you need to expand your viewpoint on language.
