The Garden Path

It’s the same thing, day in, day out. Nothing changes. It’s the same sky, with the same gray clouds floating by in an endless path around the world and back again. It’s the same brilliant sunset with no one to share it with. It’s the same people, going on with their lives, not even stopping to say hello. I bet even the fairytale couples in the movies are broken and dry now.

And yet, with all this mediocrity around me, a rainbow appears, bright, beautiful, and unexpected. Maybe there is something on the other side of that rainbow. Perhaps something that will make my heart race, something full of excitement. Maybe if I fly over it… then surely…
