You(?) & Me(!)

Your eyes are glass
Mine’re like plants.
Think they’ll get along?
I hope not.

Yours see stop signs
Mine, dandelions . . .
Both of us see grass.
‘Cause that’s all there is to see.

This field’s too long
This grass, too green.
This life, too yours.

Maybe we should just stop to think
To stare at these things.

Someone close to me shared an interpretation of this that I liked a lot: "It's like it's about two people, they argue, and they're very different. But still, they're close together and they can't help it and why should they? The last line ties it together. It's like they're coming to the realization that they need to look deeper into each other and ignore their differences." I liked that someone was able to read this and see something that deep.
