Our Dance

I wake up
to the
soft morning light
shining vividly
thru the window
across your slumbering face,
the soft scent of rain
lingers in the air
mingled with the
scent
of our love ...
The taste of you
on my lips
musky and sweet,
my sight filled
with the vision of you
tangled
in love worn sheets ...
Your brow slightly furrowed
As you dream
of our desire driven waltz,
our ecstatic voices
singing choir tune fine
as we define
the crescendo
of our passionate finale
together ...
Filled with your
satiating love
I reach out brushing
the hair from your face
as you waken
sweet and warm
reaching for me ...
I smile
moving into your arms
and we
Encore
the rhythmic
movements of
Our Dance~

Thank you Matt.

Brokenwing, thank you for your comments.....I do try to personalize my writing and as I'm a very tactile person, I do tend to be tactile in my work as well.....

Oh this is excellent; extremely sensual. I love how you involve all 5 senses. I especially love how you included the following intimate gesture, which very much personalizes the poem.

I reach out brushing
the hair from your face
as you waken
sweet and warm
reaching for me ...
I smile
moving into your arms

Keep up the good work. I'd love to read more of yours. The dance metaphor is very appropriate.

I so enjoy your frequent use of "dance" as a metaphor.
