a moment in time

A soft caress,
a gentle breeze in your thoughts,
a soft tug in your heart,
stung, sprung,
stirred by a scent,
a tune,
a moment in time~

a song,
a melody,
a small breath,
barely decipherable,
and a heart string
plucked
at the perfect note~

a soft knowing smile,
eyes meeting,
knowingly,
a murmur,
whisper to me,
a soft touch shared,
a moment in time~

bending and breaking,
a heartbeat exploding,
a love
a kiss
a smile
a miss,
everything we ever wanted,
everything we ever lost,
found~

two hearts dancing
to a solitary song,
sweetly sung,
a rhythm felt only by us,
and only we move to,
a moment in time~

we lost ourselves,
and found each other,
and when the music ended
we found ourselves still dancing
in our silence~

hanging tightly,
breaths mingling,
lives entangled,
memories in the making

Our moment in time~

I love this poem. It is so simple yet profound. Captures all the small moments that make us smile and bring joy to our hearts. I like the brief, staccato verses. Complements the theme of "moments" in time very nicely.

Thank you Mike....love should not be dramatic nor should it be sterile and unfortunately at times, it is either one or the other....

flows easily and calmly, never overdramatic as some love pieces tend to get. instead its an involving piece, emotionally true and tender.

well done alicia.
