My Life

Stand up
Sit down
Look pretty
Say hello

Cross your legs
Close your mouth
Make me proud
Do that too

Be better than them
Look better than them
Speak smarter than them
Act better than them

Make all your dreams real
And all of mine too
Do it for the family
Don’t do it for you

And at twenty two
I stopped and wondered
Who was I fighting?
And who was I?

very impressive! I do not have children, but have many nephews and nieces and your words here really hit home. I truly enjoyed this.

Okay, so you're not all about optimism. I was wondering with the other two if it was even possible for you to look to the past, and here you've shown me just that. You are tackling something that has been huge in the news lately. You handle it with such graciousness. And I am glad you were able to come to realization that that early life was not you. I just hope you managed to find yourself.

As with the other two, this is beautiful. I expect to be repeating that at least another three times, as I have Whiplash, Kill Me Now, and Clouds in other tabs.

Well done. It's hard raising kids, but it's hard for kids, too. Sadly, the two most important decisions we make are decision made without training on how to do it well: marriage and child raising. No wonder we live in such a chaotic world. J
