Damned if you Do...
There once was a man named Bob.
Bob was depressed.
Each day, as a habit,
Bob would have his obituary put in the local paper.
Just in case.
One day, while walking across the street,
Bob realized the source of his depression.
He spent too much time worrying about death,
and not enough time enjoying life.
In that moment of realization
Bob jumped up and down,
happy as can be,
and was soon hit
by a newspaper delivery van.

| Well, I don't see how it's a cliche. I've never read a poem/ mini story like this before. I expected him to die, but not die by a newspaper van. I liked this. Looks like it could be in an anthology of "Silly" poems.... yeah, I cringed when I wrote that. |

| I liked this one. Perhaps instead of "damned if you do, damned if you don't." you could close with a simple headline: Obituary Writer Dies Without A Few Kind Words... or something. |
