CONFUSION

Chaotic images rampage through my mind
Only of you, only of the things you do
Never is it of anything else
False impressions I have of you
Under all your kindness and fake chivalry
Something lurks beneath, something
I can’t quite put my finger on
Over emphasizing the fact that I can’t trust you
Nevertheless, I do

this is so true
too often we build people up and then we are dissapointed when they don't live up to these false standards

Good poem, Toni. Very appropriate title. Been there at times. Trusting is a risky thing, but life without risk is too safe for me. J

I think everyone can relate to this type of feeling and that universality is a huge stepping point for the power of this piece. You evoke the troubled emotion of caring for someone you shouldn't. Your mind knows it, but your heart can't get on the same page.

Thank you.

False impressions can lead to all sorts if confusion. I love this piece, there is a lot of confusion in the structure and wording of this piece that I think only backs up the piece as a whole. Well done Toni. :)

I like its pace. Each line jabs in the face. It's a relationship poem, not one before or after a relationship. Well done.
