Phoenix:
Come here my dear child.
And wipe away the tears.
Let me tell you a story.
Take a look at me now.
There was once a time when I was hurt too,
A time when evil tainted my heart.
All was dark and gloom.
Eternal darkness filled my skies.
Rich blood ran through the River of Sorrow,
A river which passes through my heart even now.
A river running through my mind,
My very soul,
Day to day.
This is where I dwelt for a year.
A year in what seemed like an eternity.
A perpetual life of unhappiness.
Until I finally looked up to the darkened sky.
It was then that I saw it,
The most beautiful sight on Earth.
A bird with all the colors of the rainbow.
The Phoenix.
Flame was produced from his feathers,
A searing heat hotter than the brightest star.
A smile was brought to my face and a tear too.
Then I saw it crash to the ground,
Immolating itself in flame.
And I cried at seeing this sad display.
But as I drew nearer something caught my eye.
Out of the ashes arose a new bird,
A younger more vibrant colorful bird.
Filled with more life and vitality.
And I realized then and there the story of love and life.
Love is like the Phoenix.
Upon its death a new love surfaces from the ashes.
People say things get better with time,
Or that time heals all things.
And they couldn't be any more wrong.
But with time, love can be renewed,
And so can our faith.
Love is like the Phoenix.
Take a look at me now,
And wipe away the tears.
Love will be renewed,
And so will your faith.
Love is like the Phoenix.
