War knows no bleeding
Which side is right or wrong
The outcome is either
Surrender
Or
Victory
Matters not the lives loss
Nor the sacrifice of others
The resources to render useless
In claiming a righteous cause
At the end of battle
Triumph holds ceremonies
Ribbons to medals awarded
Defeat reconciles in silence
Awaiting execution to executive orders
Ranks fall one by one
Peace seems content to hold
Families are rejoined
While recovery stands at a balance
History is forever changed in memory
Fading is the fore ground of surrender
That victory must compromise
In making the world
An institution of good will
Long after the cries
The echoes which brought forth
A retreat to civilization
In paying the priceless price
Of triumph
