Choices?

Life appears to be full of choices. All it seems like we have to do is decide which choice to make. We cross our fingers and say a little prayer, hoping that we make the right choice. Yet, many of the choices we’ve made have disappointed us. We sometimes call our disappointed choices, mistakes. But it’s okay to make mistakes, after all – we’re physical beings.

Let’s face it. Being natural, physical beings has its drawbacks. One big drawback is accepting something we cannot see. Another drawback is thinking that we’re in control. However, life has its own agenda and we’re all attending the meeting. There is already a chairman to conduct the meeting. The old business has already happened and the new business is already resolved. Therefore, we already have our preordained assignments to carry out. Last but not least, all of our questions will be answered in time, if we are willing to listen.

Have you ever thought that maybe in reality, just as the sun was made to give us light by day and the moon to give us light by night, that our choices have already been made for us also? Concrete evidence is always embraced with facts. It is evident that we are fallible, just as the law of gravity is a fact. Likewise, destiny is a fact, because fate is inevitable. It’s all a seamless operation. It can’t be changed. It’s much like your name attached to your social security number, can’t change it. It appears as if we’re making our own choices because of the perfect, seamless transitions we evolve into. We think, decide and determine what we want to do, then put it into motion. When in reality, this process that we go through was already programmed to happen. We’re merely acting it out.

It’s not easy being an instrument, especially if we believe we are in control. Some of us accept life as it is, by simply appreciating each day that we wake up breathing, There are others who resist the hand they’ve been dealt, not willing to listen, not desiring to know, and cannot accept that their behavior has already been determined. As in the law of gravity, they miserably fail because of human insufficiencies. However, this was the choice they made, and it was also the choice that was already determined they’d make. Since choices are accredited to having the power to choose between things; and since we have no power of our own, there are only two options we have: we can accept or deny this fact.

Subsequently, being natural, we are vulnerable to life. We have natural frailties and insecurities. Although, those who believe that moral perfection can be attained in a natural existence, again proves that human deficiencies are real - and that perfection is no where in sight. There is no perfection on earth, only in heaven. Therefore, we can only be what we are.

My suggestion is that we do the best we can with what we’ve been blessed to have. Treat everyone else as you would like to be treated. Since we are not perfect, I realize it’s hard to not lie. However, put forth your best effort not to lie. Be honest and sincere in all you do. No, you won’t get “brownie points”. However, what you will receive within your spirit is peace of mind. You will not be condemned for your actions when you are sincere and true. This peace within is far greater than anything else you can ask for.

However, it’s your choice. You can keep trying to work out your plan here on earth, or accept the fact that the Master Plan has already been written in Heaven.
