Imagine

Imagine if you were a mouse
running around a big old house
gathering things from here and there
gathering things from everywhere
Imagine if you were a bee
flying from tree to tree
gathering nectur along the way
working hard every day
imagine if you were a goat
running around in a wooly coat
eating grass all day long
singing only happy songs
imagine if you were a bear
with all that long coarse hair
using your claws just like a rake
gathering fish from the lake
imagine if you were a duck
swimming around in the mud and the muck
in the winter you fly south
while quacking comes out of your mouth
imagine if you were a dear
all the little noises you could hear
in a storm you buckle down
never making any sound
all these things that I could be
I'm glad that I'm just me.
