I, A Man

I stand transfixed

And don’t know why

My heart goes boom

My lips go dry.

If I could say

What’s in my heart

I’d talk all day

Yet never start

To give the meaning

Of the word

I try to say

I hope you heard.

To touch you

Is my heart’s desire

To kiss you would

Just stoke the fire

Where flames of

Lust and love conjoin

And in their forge

I am reborn.

You’re a cut above

With no sharp edges

Just smoothly curved

With nasty wedges.

I, a man

Want you to know me

Take me in

Your arms and show me

What lies beneath

Your fulsome veil,

A pot of gold?

The holy grail?

Infatuate me

Satiate me

Destroy me and then

Recreate me.

For all you care

For all I do

There is no other

Me for you.
