A Nickel For A Dime

A Nickel For A Dime

by vlm

There’s a mean street in my heart;

It takes me past the no/where

People meet in a final hello.

The tears I breathe drown my sleep

Like all the nights without you.

I awake in a nightmare because

Life is no peace—just us,

But I hold to the dream

That guides me.

I won’t be afraid to make

That leap of faith through

My window of opportunity,

I know the ground will

Rise to meet me and

Break my fall from grace
