before
before
whole universe
the moon lit large
the bottom of the deepest sea
and the palms of these hands
trees
grass
the very earth
we stand upon
and the memory
of little ones
asleep in their beds
tomorrow's sunrise
two Spring cardinals
the horror
of our darkest nights
and the crack
of close-in
lightning
whole Universe
this very instant
before
thinking
feeling
defining
believing
muddies
the pure
spring stream
