Sadie Cummings in Memory of Eight Bells
She snorted and pranced
when her hooves touched the sand
and we’re off
with me in a two-point
and her in full gallop
through shallow water
the spray salting my face
the two of us in raucous rhythm.
We would have gone on forever.
The rocks at the seawall forced a halt.
She died at the track
put down after she broke her leg trying.

| Wow. Remorse, running, and a horse. Intense. Very good lines, excellent imagery. Not a big fan of imagery poetry that builds up to 2 lines for a point, but this is a good one. |

Hi,
This is a very innocent piece, even though there is a bit of a bitter ending. The piece still retains some sweetness. Very reflective of the horse's spirit and energy.
Nice write. Thanks for the read.

| A wonderful poem, but it would have been so funny if snoted and pranced had referred to a human rather than a horse. Just my sick sense of humor. |
