The Dream Date

The Dream Date

The sky was stating
A boastful blue
That no cloud
Would dare to tarnish.
The waves were
Rolling and swirling
In the sand as it
Tickled our toes.
We started to walk
Hand in hand
Towards the hints
Of red, purple, and pink.
They were now making
Themselves known
As the day began to retire.
It was truly
A picture perfect date.
And then,
I woke up.

I like this one. It seems like it could be longer, with a little more detailed lines, you know? But other than that.. I love it. You can see exactly what is going on.

"Blue Water Baptism"

by Kimberley Linstruth-Beckom

"Blue Water Baptism" is my second collection of poems ranging in topic from views on death, God, friendships, and society. These poems were written in the course of ten years and show the "20-something" state of mind that transitions into a "30-something" mentality.
