Beneath The Sea (Keys/Karjon 34)

"I've deciphered it, sir. Every fourth letter in the first word of each sentence represents a Y, the preceding are meaningless, thrown in for disguise. The second letter in the third word is the keeper and represents O while the first in each fourth is a U followed by an apostrophe. And there seems to be a repetitive RE."

I swallowed hard, lowered the periscope and wiped my brow. "We're in trouble then."

"Why do you say that?"

"Because I just got a telegraph from The Lincoln; they cracked the last part of the code. Every period stands for F, commas are U, dashes are C, exclamation marks are . . ."

haha had to read it twice because i was too dim to get it first time round but its funny when my brain kicks in :)
