It took a year

was keeping it all to myself..

finding a way out of what i thought
was an illusion i had to overcome..

denied my feelings of insanity for
believing that I was waiting ..or
wishing for something you could not
give..
something that could not happen..

or so I thought..

denied signs...
denied actions..

maybe you were confused..
just as i was confused myself..

never realized it until now..
until now that i'm already miles away..

miles away to see..
to hear..
to feel..

damn..
maybe there's just things better left
unsaid..

i'm hating you now..
just as i'm hating myself..

It's hard to really get a feel for this poem because of the way some of the words are placed. Also, "denied" and "until now" are used a couple times too many.

Anyway, now that the ugly part's out of the way, the sense of belated realization is one I'm familiar with, as is the hate that comes afterwards. I found I could relate to this one!
