Disposed thoughtfully

A light bulb just fell out of the sky...
Maybe it was not so intelligent after all

It melted a hole in the linoleum
Burn out . . . (by the way)
I must have utilized it too long

Dare I touch it while it’s still embering?
Could it smash into a million pieces on the ground?
Best not to touch
Leave well alone
Till it has cooled down to a more manageable temperament

Maybe I could use it again
The fall was hard
But potentially repairable

But would I trust its character
There’s a high chance of fickle
Since it’s hit the ground

A shake test is in order
Then upon closer inspection
Judgement shall be placed:
Left aside as a spare for emergencies;
Or wrapped in newspaper and cardboard
Scribbled with vivid . . .

DISPOSED THOUGHTFULLY

I have the feeling that you are writing about a relationship that has broken up, and that you want to keep the other person in your sight, not ready to let go completely. 'Best not to touch. Leave well alone. Until it has cooled..'

Interesting to read and decipher.

Jelly,
An odd sort of poem and a strange outlook. I wasn’t sure what was going through your head. Some of the words you’ve chosen are out of context. What does ‘There’s a high chance of fickle’ mean. Not without some touches of wry humour though. It sounds like you wrote it when you were drunk. Or you’re a visitor to this planet and everything seems magical and weird and wondrous. If so – Welcome.
