Majestic stars in the night sky
shine millions of miles high
above our love and fate
to be the other’s happy soul mate.
love gently flowed in my chest
like a quiet stream, travelers’ rest,
quietly quenching a dry tongue
innocent love of the young.
Always the idea of the other’s presence
filled each with such happiness
brought smile, simple, sweet
a self indulgent treat.
But a sour smell turned traveler’s away
and the stars blazed only in light of day.
A falling rock became of love’s dream
when up close I confronted your hygiene.
